A single stray dash is enough to stop an invoice from matching. The invoice number you enter in Polaris has to match the number on your invoice document and your supporting documents character for character: same digits, same letters, same case, no extra spaces.
So INV-2026-014 becomes INV2026014, everywhere it appears.
- Pick one simple numbering style and use it on every invoice.
- If your accounting software adds dashes, change the format before you submit.
- Polaris doesn’t tell you which character is off, so check it yourself before you submit.
